Lunch Box for Kids Program
Hope For The City’s “Lunch Box For Kids” program is designed to combat summer hunger by meeting the needs of Minnesota families who find their food supply stretched because of decreased food shelf donations and increased demands for meals at home when children are not receiving breakfast and lunch at school.
Two federal nutrition programs (NSLP & SFSP) exist to feed children during the summer months, but only 13 per every 100 of Minnesota’s low-income children are actually receiving those meals.
This year Hope For The City and 5 Eyewitness News are working together to deliver 5,000 Lunch Boxes to food shelves throughout the Twin Cities. You can help us reach our goal of 5,000 boxes and send 100,000 meals for hungry children to our local food shelves.
